Active Medical Plan Members of the BOP Get Flu Vaccines at 100%

Flu season is here. Have you gotten your flu shot yet?
It’s easy for active members of the Medical Plan to protect themselves against the flu this season. You can get your flu shot at a participating retail pharmacy or at your doctor’s office—whichever is more convenient for you. Either way, it’s covered at 100%.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends a yearly flu vaccine for everyone as the most important step in protection against the influenza virus. A flu shot not only protects you from influenza, but can also help prevent spreading the virus to others.
Getting your flu shot at a pharmacy? Just show your Express Scripts ID card. To locate a participating retail pharmacy:
Getting your flu shot at your physician’s office?* If you have coverage under Highmark and you get your shot from a network physician, the physician’s office will submit the charges directly to Highmark.
And for active plan members, the immunization will be added automatically to your Personal Health Record (PHR) from ActiveHealth Management. If you aren’t taking advantage of your confidential and convenient PHR to manage your health history yet, launch yours today.
If you have questions about your coverage for your seasonal flu shot or your PHR, please call the Board of Pensions at 800-773-7752 (800-PRESPLAN).
